Beer Bread

 


 

This recipe is from England.

 

4 oz (1 1/2 cups or 2 teacups) white flour (self-rising if possible)

2 oz (3/4 cup or 1 teacup) whole meal flour

2 tsp baking powder

1 Tbsp granulated sugar

1 small fist wheat or oat bran

1 small fist wheat germ (or add more flour)

1 fist raisins

1 fist sesame seeds

1 - 33 cl (12 oz) can of beer

 

Mix the dry ingredients and raisins in a small bowl.

Stir in beer.  Add more if necessary to get the right consistency.

Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan.

Sprinkle the top with the sesame seeds.

Bake in a 300 degree F oven for about one hour.

Remove the loaf from the pan and return to oven rack for 5 minutes to crisp the crust.

 

Makes 1 loaf..

 

 

Delicious while still hot with butter!
